    Q: When and Where will SMUN take place?

    A: The SMUN 2011 conference will take place in the Stockholm School of Economics between the 10th and 13th of November.

    Q: Who can apply for SMUN?

    A: The conference is open for all university students and graduates, over the age of 18.

    Q: What is the participation fee?

    A: The participation fee for this year is still to be settled, but should be less than 60 Euros.

    Q: Is accommodation included in the fee?

    A: No, but we are in the process of creating a list of recommended places to stay in Stockholm during the conference.

    Q: How can I pay the registration fee?

    A: You can pay the registration fee via bank transfer. Keep in mind that registration fee is non-refundable.

    Q: What does the conference fee include?

    A: The conference fee include:
    • Mingles on Thursday and Friday night
    • Lunches on Saturday and Sunday
    • The Diplomat Dinner on Saturday night
    • Coffee and snacks throughout the whole conference
    • Delegate pack (including internet access)

    Q: Is it possible to enroll as a group?

    A: SMUN encourages individual enrollment.

    Q: How many delegates can represent a country?

    A: The general rule is two delegates per country in a committee.

    Q: Do I need a visa to come to Sweden?

    A: Visa requirements vary from country to country. It is highly recommended that you check your country’s visa status and state your need for Visa in the online registration form.

    Q: What is the dress code for the conference?

    A: The dress code is formal for both men and women during all days of session (men must wear ties), unless specified otherwise by the organizers.

    Q: What is the deadline for application?

    A: Registration will be open as specified below:
    • June 6 – September 4: Registration period open for foreign applicants in need of Visa.
    • June 6 – September 20: Registration period open for all other foreign applicants.
    • August 1 – September 20: Registration period open for Swedish applicants (Swedish citizen/Permanent resident/Free mover/Exchange student).

    Q: I have never participated in a MUN before. Will I be able to attend?

    A: Of course! Stockholm Model United Nations is always happy to have first-time MUNers. The Host Team will do their best in providing you with preparation material before the conference. In addition, you are welcome to contact the Host Team and/or the Chairs previous to the conference. We recommend first-timers to attend the Rules of Procedure-session previous to the first session.

    Q: How do I prepare for the conference?

    A: Once you have been assigned a committee, the participant coordinators will provide you with relevant information regarding the topics of discussion. Nevertheless, you will have to study your selected country’s opinion by your own.
