  • Who we are

SMUN is a cooperation between students from Stockholm University and the Stockholm School of Economics. It is organised as a non-profit event without any political or religious affiliations.

    Beginning
The cooperation started out in 2004 with a small group of students from Stockholm University and Stockholm School of Economics. It is today a phenomenon. Stockholm Model United Nations has since the first conference attracted an ever increasing interest from students, as well as from the broader business and academic communities.

    SMUN  Patron
The fact that Jan Eliasson, former President of the UN General Assembly, since the beginning of 2006 is the official SMUN Patron is just another testament of the growing gravity of the work SMUN is carrying out. Ambassador Eliasson has previously also served as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Darfur, former Swedish Ambassador to the UN and former Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden.
